Ajax Systems has expanded the Superior line by introducing the MotionCam S wireless infrared motion detector (PhOD) Jeweller. The new product supports photo-on-alarm, photo-on-demand, scheduled photo, and scenario photo functions, which allows users to receive visual confirmation of events in real time.
Key features of MotionCam S (PhOD) Jeweller:
- Photo verification: The built-in camera automatically takes pictures when the detector is triggered, giving users the ability to assess the situation in the room. The first photo is sent to the Ajax app within 9 seconds after the alarm.
- Variety of shooting modes: The detector supports four types of photo verification: photo by alarm, photo by request, photo by schedule, and photo by scenario, which provides flexibility in security settings.
- Detection and communication range: MotionCam S (PhOD) Jeweller detects motion at a distance of up to 12 metres and communicates with the hub at a distance of up to 1700 metres in the absence of obstacles.
- Operating time: Thanks to the pre-installed long-life batteries, the detector can operate for up to 5 years without replacing the batteries.
- Privacy protection: All photos are encrypted and stored in accordance with GDPR standards, ensuring the privacy of user data.
How the integrated motion detector system works
Jeweller's Superior MotionCam HD (PhOD) integrated motion detection system combines advanced detection and analysis technologies. Each element is designed to provide high accuracy, adaptability to different conditions, and minimise false alarms.
- Infrared sensor - Ajax motion detectors use infrared sensors from Excelitas Technologies, an American company with over 90 years of experience in the development of optoelectronics. Ajax Systems guarantees the high quality of these sensors by testing each device at the production site. The combination of the sensor and Ajax's own technologies ensures the most accurate intrusion detection.
- Fresnel lens - The sections of the Fresnel lens are designed to distinguish between the infrared emission patterns of humans, animals, and thermal obstacles. The large sections focus on the radiation from the adult head and torso, while the smaller sections provide a highly detailed pattern. This allows the lens to provide the detector with accurate information about the thermal object in the detection area and its movement patterns.
- SmartDetect Thermal Interference Filter - During the armed mode, the detector continuously analyses the data from the sensor: infrared radiation intensity, heat spot size, movement speed, time spent in the detection zone, and other characteristics. This allows the algorithm to instantly recognise potential sources of false alarms, such as car headlights, lighting fixtures, or heat flows. As a result, the detector accurately responds only to people, avoiding false alarms.
- Temperature Compensation - A software mechanism that provides a clear contrast of the heat pattern even when the ambient temperature is close to the human body temperature. The detector continuously measures the ambient temperature and adjusts the infrared sensor performance using a table of coefficients stored in its memory. This ensures that the sensor remains efficient over the entire operating temperature range.
- Sensitivity level - The detector supports four sensitivity levels that can be configured via the Ajax app. The choice of the level depends on the type of object, potential sources of false alarms, and the characteristics of the protected area. Low sensitivity level is recommended for areas with a high probability of false alarms, medium sensitivity level is recommended for most standard objects, and high sensitivity level is suitable for areas without potential interference.
- Professional installation - Superior MotionCam HD (PhOD) Jeweller is a part of the Superior product line and is available exclusively through Ajax Systems' accredited partners who install, sell, and administer the detector. For proper operation, the detector should be mounted at a height of 2.4 metres, with the lens perpendicular to the likely intrusion path. This will ensure accurate analysis of the heat pattern and avoid triggering by pets weighing up to 20 kg and up to 50 cm tall, as well as other thermal obstacles.
