Plans have changed again, with insiders reporting that Google is abandoning tablet production - the Pixel Tablet 2 could be its last model
Just a few days ago we reported that Insider: Google is already working on the Pixel Tablet 2 - the gadget will get physical keyboard support and a 30 per cent performance boost and shared insider information about its main improvements, as it suddenly turned out that the novelty may be the last tablet of the company.
Here's What We Know
The Android Headlines portal reported that they have learnt from various sources that Google plans to abandon the production of tablets again. Recall that in 2019, the tech giant had already made such a decision, but still released the Pixel Tablet in 2023.
Now it is claimed that last week, Google's management approved the halt of development of the Pixel Tablet 3, which had the codename Kiyomi.
It is mentioned that the employees who were involved in designing the gadget have already been redirected to other tasks. That said, there is nothing to indicate that Google has given up on releasing the Pixel Tablet 2, which is expected in mid-2025.
