No cheating: Valve has updated the rules for releasing Season Passes on Steam that include DLC

Valve has made changes to the rules that relate to the release of Season Passes and included DLC on Steam.

Here's What We Know

The company has obliged the developers of games that have a paid Season Pass to accurately indicate the release dates of DLC.

The innovation applies specifically to passes with released and future DLC, access to which is opened by a one-time purchase, and not combat passes, which are available in service games.

On a special page in Steam, developers must detail the content of the DLC and when it will be released. If for any reason they fail to deliver what they promised - Valve reserves the right to partially or fully refund users for the purchase of the pass and remove it from sale.

Developers may update the DLC release date on their own, but only once per season pass. The maximum period of postponement of an add-on is not more than three months. If it is necessary to exceed the limit - you should contact Valve.

The new rule does not apply to Season Passes, which are included in extended editions of games.
