The Opera GX gamer browser has received the biggest update in its history

Opera GX, the popular browser for gamers, has received one of the most significant updates since its launch.

Here's What We Know

The new version introduces a completely revamped user interface with an "Underwave" design that gives the browser a sleek and game-centric look. Users can choose between two new mods - Underwave Mod and Tech Mod, each with unique colours, music and sound effects.

In addition, Opera GX now supports a forced dark mode that applies to all web pages and a new MidnightFX shader that reduces the effects of blue light and adjusts page contrast for a more comfortable nighttime browsing experience. The update also includes a new multi-threaded Compositor UI engine that provides a fast and responsive browser experience even when running multiple mods and customisations.

Users can customise the layout and transparency of UI elements so that they blend into the background. The update also improves animations and adds new start page customisation options. These changes are available on all platforms, including desktops and mobile devices.
