DxOMark has rated the iPhone 16's camera higher than that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra
DxOMark's test lab tested the iPhone 16's camera and it performed better than the camera of its main competitor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Here's What We Know
The new flagship from Apple scored 147 points, which allowed it to enter the top 20 devices in the camera rating. Experts DxOMark noted the high brightness and contrast of images in HDR-mode, as well as the accurate transfer of skin tones in photos and videos. The iPhone 16's autofocus was found to be fast and accurate, and the level of detail in indoor photography was at its best. Video shooting also received high marks for its low noise and effective stabilisation.
However, despite all the advantages, the iPhone 16 has disadvantages. In particular, the limited dynamic range led to cropping of highlights in images, and glare effects and other defects in photos were noticed. The zoom was also limited due to the lack of a dedicated sensor, and in low light conditions there was a loss of detail and noise in the shadows.
Nevertheless, the iPhone 16 performed well, outperforming not only the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but also previous iPhone models such as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
