Another Conor McGregor punishment: on the back of committing a serious offence, IO Interactive is ending its partnership with the athlete and will remove him from Hitman
Titled fighter Conor McGregor has been found guilty of sexual assault and beating up a victim - this news also concerns the gaming industry, as the athlete performed the role of "Elusive Target" in Hitman: World of Assassination.
Here's What We Know
Danish studio IO Interactive couldn't ignore McGregor's offence and announced that it is completely terminating its cooperation with him and will soon remove all content related to the Irish fighter from Hitman: World of Assassination.
McGregor intends to appeal the verdict and cancel the payment of the fine to the victim in the amount of $250 thousand, but this will not affect the decision made by IO Interactive - in any case, he will no longer be in the game.
In light of the recent court judgement against Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has decided to immediately end its partnership with the athlete. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore the consequences. As a result, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr McGregor from our storefronts starting today.
