Game of the day: Nine Sols - 2D Sekiro with a touch of Taoist cyberpunk now available on consoles

The 2D platformer Nine Sols is a mix of Sekiro, Eastern mythology, and cyberpunk. The game was released back in May, but exclusively on PC, and now it has been released on consoles.

Here's What We Know

The game is set in the fascinating world of Taopunk, which combines elements of ancient Chinese mythology with cyberpunk. Players explore the remains of a long-dead alien civilisation, uncovering secrets about its mysterious past and its connection to the nine Sols, god-like beings once revered by the locals.

You play as Yi, a vengeful hero who has awoken centuries later to travel this confusing world and confront the Sols.

The gameplay is inspired by Sekiro: the basis of combat is parrying, dodging and precise attacks. The story is set in a world full of riddles and hidden secrets, with an interesting level design that conveys a mix of mysticism and hi-tech.

The game has already received 80 points from critics and players on Metacritic, so now console gamers can check out one of the best metro games of the year.

Where To Play

Nine Sols is available on Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 4/5, Switch (and PC and Game Pass) for $30.
