HMD Fusion: new modular smartphone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and affordable price launched in India

HMD Global has introduced a new budget smartphone, the HMD Fusion, in India with a modular design that allows for customisation and repair.

Here's What We Know

One of its main features is a modular design that allows users to change different design elements of the phone. The company offered three different variants of such interchangeable modules, called smart suits. These can be cases for everyday use, bright RGB-backlit cases or gaming cases with physical buttons for better control in games.

The smartphone has a 6.56-inch display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and cameras: a 108 MP main camera and a 50 MP front-facing selfie camera.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset that provides 5G support. It has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1 TB.

The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh and a charging speed of 33W. The smartphone runs on Android 14 and will receive two major OS updates and three years of security updates. In addition, it has IP54 water and dust resistance, NFC for contactless payments, and support for Qualcomm aptX audio.

The smartphone is priced at Rs 17,999 (approximately $213), with additional modular cases selling for Rs 5999 (approximately $71). It will be available from 29 November on the official website and through Amazon India.

The price of the HMD Fusion in Ukraine is 8000 UAH.
