Paramount and SkyShowtime have unveiled the first full trailer for the prequel to the cult series Dexter, subtitled Original Sin.
Here's What We Know
The trailer explains to viewers that the events of the new series are based on the memories of a badly wounded Dexter, who was shot at the end of the mini-series Dexter: New Blood (2021) and is in serious condition in intensive care.
The events of Dexter: Original Sin will unfold in Miami in 1991, when a young medical student has not yet become a serial killer, but already feels a craving for blood. He tries to learn to control his inner demons, but his father, who is a police officer, realises that it is unlikely that his son will be able to cope with himself. The father, whose role is again played by Christian Slater, instils in Dexter the code, according to which he can only kill criminals, and teaches him how not to get caught by the police.
The series is being created with the active participation of the author of the original Dexter - producer Clyde Phillips.
Dexter: Original Sin will premiere on Paramount+ on 13 December. The series consists of ten episodes, in which the audience will see many familiar characters, but the main role will be played not by Michael C. Hall, and Patrick Gibson.
