The Honor 300 Pro, which is due for release on 2 December, has been spotted in Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. But this version of the chip is different from the standard one.

Here's What We Know

Unlike the standard version of the chip, the Honor 300 Pro will apparently use a stripped-down Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, where all the cores run at lower frequencies. The main X4 core runs at 3.05GHz, the five A720 cores run at 2.96GHz and the two energy efficient A520 cores run at 2.04GHz. This is most likely done to strike a balance between performance and thermal management, as the smartphone may not have powerful cooling.

The device under test has 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 15. In Geekbench tests, it scored 2141 points in single-core mode and 6813 points in multi-core mode. In comparison, the Xiaomi 14 Pro with the same chip has average scores of 2066 and 6556 respectively. Despite the lowered frequencies, users are unlikely to notice a drop in performance in real-world conditions.
