The multiplayer RPG Fallout 76 came out in 2018 and is still remembered as one of the biggest failures of not only Bethesda, but the entire gaming industry. It was in terrible technical condition, had almost nothing in common with the iconic franchise, offered no interesting content, and the scandal of the collector's edition buyer bags angered even the most positively inclined gamers.
But it was Fallout 76 that after the lapse of time became one of the few examples of how to save the game and attract millions of gamers to it.
Here's What We Know
At the moment Vote for your favourite games - there's a popular vote on Steam to choose the best games in 11 categories and one of them is the "Favourite Child" category, which includes projects with the most successful post-release support.
Bethesda not only published an appeal to Fallout 76 fans to vote for the online-RPG in the mentioned category, but also reported an interesting figure: Fallout 76 audience has exceeded 21 million users, and this is despite the fact that exactly a year ago the game had 17 million people.
We'd like to take this opportunity to say what a long way we've come since the launch of Fallout 76 in 2018 and what a S.P.E.C.I.A.L you all are. These six years, our main goal has been to build an amazing community and constantly cater to their needs, evolving the game through over 50 free updates. In the process, the game has grown - and so has our community. Since release day, we've welcomed over 21 million Asylum leavers to Appalachia!
We at Bethesda Game Studios are committed to giving you the best experience possible. We read all of your feedback from platforms from Reddit to Discord. In addition, we regularly invite you to our public test server so that you can try out new products before updates are released and give us useful feedback.
Surely this increase in players is not only due to the constant major updates, but also to the release of the Fallout series from Amazon.
On 3 December, Fallout 76 will receive the Gleaming Depths update, which contains a new raid, camp pets, four-star legendary items, and various upgrades.
