Google has updated the Gmail app to add the ability to drag and drop contacts between the To, Copy, and Hidden Copy fields. The feature is already available in the web version and has now arrived on Android.

Here's What We Know

The new feature allows users to manage contacts more efficiently by moving them between fields, however, contacts are not swapped, they are just moved around. This can be useful if you accidentally put an address in the wrong field.

This update is part of a series of improvements that Gmail has received in recent months, including integration with Google Gemini and improved search filters. While the new feature is useful, some users have commented that it would be more convenient if contacts swapped places when dragged and dropped.

While the drag-and-drop contacts feature may seem minor, it makes managing email noticeably easier, especially for users who often confuse the "Copy" and "Hidden Copy" fields. This update emphasises Google's commitment to improving the productivity and usability of its apps.
