It's no secret that Apple's new devices, which will go on sale in late 2025 or early 2026, will receive an innovative M5 chip. It will provide a significant increase in power, but at the same time, as it turned out, will not be the reason for the rise in price of gadgets.
Here's What We Know
The publication The Elec reported that Apple ordered the production of M5 chips Taiwanese company TSMC, which is the absolute leader in this industry.
The publication's material indicates that the processors will be produced using advanced 3nm technology from TSMC, rather than the more expensive 2nm architecture, which will allow Apple to reduce the cost of gadgets or, at least, not to raise it.
System on Integrated Chip (SoIC) technology will provide improved thermal management and minimise current leakage.
Mass production of M5 chips is expected to start in the second half of 2025. Rather, the following gadgets will get the next-generation processors:
- iPad Pro
- MacBook Pro
- MacBook Air
- Apple Vision Pro.
