Tesla has announced the launch of a new app for Apple Watch that will allow users to unlock and control their car directly from the watch.
Here's What We Know
Tesla owners will be able to use the Apple Watch as a digital key for their car, allowing them to perform functions that were previously available only through the app on their smartphone.
Opening the trunk, checking the battery status, adjusting the climate control, and locking/unlocking the car will all be available through the watchOS app, which will be available later this month.
Users will not need to use a third-party app like Watch for Tesla to perform these actions. The update also includes new features such as access to Sentry Mode recordings and improved navigation.
No release of the app for Wear OS users has been announced at this time.
