DJI is preparing to launch a new Flip folding drone: photos and video details from an insider
New leaks have revealed that DJI is preparing to release a new compact folding drone called Flip.
Here's What We Know
According to leaked images and videos posted by insider Jasper Ellens (@JasperEllens), the drone will feature propeller protection similar to the DJI Neo and a folding design reminiscent of the HoverAir X1. The propellers will fold down, making the drone more compact and easy to transport.
Breaking: Thanks to my friend YueYue this is the worlds first view of the #DJIFLIP. The Flip will be the next gen #foldable DJI drone (video). If you were waiting on a Mini 5. This is it. It will have O4 and probably LiDAR. Prop guards are like FPV carbon fibre. Cheers! Jasper pic.twitter.com/uhumLWXLup

The DJI Flip will also feature a tri-axis camera, support for the DJI O4 video transmission system, and an advanced LiDAR sensor similar to the DJI Air 3S. The drone will be powered by a 3,110mAh battery, which is significantly more than previous models such as the DJI Neo and Mini 4 Pro. This will ensure a longer flight time.
At this point I don't even understand #DJI anymore. The #DJIFLIP looks like a Frankensteined Mini 2, purely designed to be a 30 minute flight 4K micro drone that may or may not #FLIP or fold in two like the Hover AIR. What do you guys think? Cheers. pic.twitter.com/yHBoVOR1pG

It's not yet known when the DJI Flip will go on sale or how much it will cost, but it's speculated that an announcement could come as early as January 2025. This drone is likely to be a replacement for the expected Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro.
