Black Myth: Wukong, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the Elden Ring add-on were the Best Games of the Year at the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia

The thirtieth PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia took place on 3 December.

At this show, Sony celebrates the most successful games from its partners that were released between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024 in Japan and the Asian market.

Here's What We Know

Thetop honours went to two of this year's high-profile new releases, Black Myth: Wukong and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, as well as the major story expansion Shadow of the Erdtree for Elden Ring.

The Partner Award is given to games that have topped the global sales charts and performed particularly well. It was awarded to:

  • Dragon's Dogma 2;
  • Honkai: Star Rail;
  • Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth;
  • Persona 3 Reload;
  • Tekken 8;
  • The First Descendant;
  • Zenless Zone Zero.

TheOutstanding Achievement Award recognises games from Asian developers that have had a major impact on the industry over the past three years. This year it was awarded to Genshin Impact.

Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade won thespecial award for games that were created in collaboration with Sony and achieved outstanding success in Japan and Asia.

Asian users considered the following games to be the best:

  • Black Myth: Wukong;
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth;
  • Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth;
  • Rise of the Ronin;
  • Stellar Blade.

Thespecial anniversary PlayStation Generations Awards honoured the best games for previous generations of PlayStation consoles:

  • Final Fantasy VII (PlayStation);
  • Final Fantasy X (PlayStation 2);
  • Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (PlayStation Portable);
  • Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PlayStation 3);
  • Persona 4 Golden (PlayStation Vita);
  • Elden Ring (PlayStation 4).
