Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new MBUX Notes app for taking notes during journeys. The technology is based on Generative Artificial Intelligence (GPT-4o) from Open AI and allows for hands-free note-taking. The German carmaker claims it's handy for making shopping lists, as well as planning work meetings or blog ideas.

Here's What We Know

MBUX Notes allows you to create multilingual voice notes that are automatically structured and stored in the cloud. Conveniently, the app allows you to listen to a short summary after completing the recording or send the notes via email or other information sharing services.

The app is available in Mercedes-Benz models with the third-generation MBUX multimedia system: E-Class (W214/S214), CLE (C236/A236), C-Class (W206/S206), GLC (X254, C254). It uses the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud service for data storage and "guarantees security through end-to-end encryption".

MBUX Notes is already available in 30 countries in Europe, including Germany, France, Italy and the UK. The company plans to launch in the US, Japan, Australia and other regions. In addition to accessing the app's functionality, users need to have an active subscription to the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus.
