Are you tired of EA Sports FC but really like virtual football? Or maybe you just want to get acquainted with sports simulations but don't want to pay money? Well, on 5 December, the free football simulator UFL was released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

Here's What We Know

UFL is a free-to-play football simulator developed by Strikerz Inc. UFL positions itself as a competitor to the FIFA and eFootball series, offering a unique approach to gameplay and monetisation.

  • Free access: UFL will be free to download, with the possibility of purchasing only cosmetic items that do not affect the game balance.
  • Sponsorship and ambassadors: The project has received support from well-known footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, and has signed deals with several football clubs, including Shakhtar, Monaco, and West Ham United.
  • Gameplay: Players can create their teams from over 5000 licensed players. The game focuses on online battles, similar to the Ultimate Team mode in EA Sports FC, where users can collect their favourite players.
  • Development of the gameplay: UFL promises constant updates without additional annual costs, which will keep the game relevant and interesting for users.

Gameplay mechanics:

Players will be able to enjoy both single and multiplayer modes. During the open beta testing, which took place in June 2024, players had the opportunity to evaluate the game mechanics and its features. Although UFL has not yet reached the level of EA Sports FC in terms of detail and animation, the developers hope to create an interesting experience for football fans.

Overall, UFL has the potential to become an interesting player in the football simulation market due to the fact that it is free to play. The main thing is to attract players and explain why they need this game, because as we can see, sometimes online games have trouble with this.

So we hope that the game will succeed, because competition is good for everyone.
