The best days are back: Fortnite OG with classic season 1 map and weapons to be available on 6 December
Fortnite OG, which takes players back to the early days of Fortnite Battle Royale, will launch on 6 December 2024. The Fortnite team has shared details on what fans can expect during this nostalgic return.
Here's What We Know
The game will start with Chapter 1 - Season 1, and the team plans to recreate the atmosphere of the early days of battle royale. The first season will end on 30 January, which will make it shorter compared to the seasons of the main game. Solo, Squads, and Zero Build modes will be available at the start.
The item set will include original items such as Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, Sniper Rifle, and other classic weapons. While Fortnite OG brings back old elements, improvements will also be made to enhance the gameplay experience. For example, the building mechanics will remain modern, and players will be able to use new movement options such as sprinting and sliding.
The classic Fortnite Battle Royale map from 2017 will be recreated with maximum accuracy. Players will find familiar locations and objects from that time. Zero Build will also feature Ziplines and Ascenders for easier movement.
In addition, players will be able to purchase the Fortnite OG Pass* to access 45 levels of "retro rewards" with modern designs of classic items and costumes. The available costumes in the first season include Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, and Skull Commander.
Fortnite OG first appeared in November 2023 and received positive reviews, Fortnite's online peak has been updated, and 44 million players took part in the battle royale over the weekend: this was influenced by the return of the map from the first season with over 44.7 million players.
