Quick Share and Google Drive have received significant improvements in the latest update from Google
Google has released an update for Quick Share on Android, adding support for QR codes to simplify file sharing, and improving document scanning in Google Drive.
Here's What We Know
Users can now generate a QR code to transfer files, which bypasses privacy settings and doesn't require selecting a device from a list of nearby devices. Just scan the QR code on the recipient's device and the devices will automatically contact each other. This innovation makes the process of file sharing faster and more convenient, especially in situations where standard connection methods don't work. It's not yet clear if QR code support will be available in the Quick Share app for Windows.
Also, as part of the latest Android update, Google has improved the document scanning feature in Google Drive. The app now automatically improves contrast, white balance, removes shadows and blur, resulting in sharper digital copies of documents without the need for manual editing. These changes make the process of scanning and saving physical documents like receipts and ID cards easier and more efficient.
