Microsoft has launched a pre-test of the new Copilot Vision feature in the Edge browser.

Here's What We Know

This experimental feature, announced in October, allows you to scan web pages and have a dialogue about the content. Copilot Vision is available to a limited number of Copilot Pro subscribers in the U.S. and only works on certain sites. Users can activate it manually, and each session's data is deleted once it's finished.

Microsoft emphasises that the feature only processes text and images from the sites being viewed, without using the data for training. This cautious approach follows criticism of the previous Recall feature, which saved screenshots of all PC activity without encrypting the data.

Copilot Vision is available for testing at Copilot Labs, and Microsoft plans to gradually expand access to the feature and increase the number of supported sites.
