Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the company's search engine will undergo significant changes by 2025.

Here's What We Know

At the DealBook Summit, Pichai noted that Google will be able to tackle more complex issues than ever before. He emphasised that users will be surprised by new search capabilities as early as early 2025.

Pichai also responded to comments made by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who earlier this year said that Google was expected to be the leader in the artificial intelligence race. Pichai noted that Google uses its own AI models, unlike Microsoft, which relies on a partnership with OpenAI. He added that Google's search engine will "profoundly change" next year, even though he said the pace of artificial intelligence development will slow down in 2025.

Google began a major overhaul of its AI-powered search this year, including updating its Gemini model to compete with Microsoft and OpenAI.
