Microsoft has officially discontinued its Surface Studio all-in-one desktop computer.

Here's What We Know

This pricey $4,300 touchscreen PC has been updated with new components just twice in 8 years. The Surface Studio debuted in late 2016 and was the company's first desktop PC. It received high praise for its quality screen and unique hinge that allows you to reposition the display for easy drawing with the Surface Pen.

However, its high price and aging internal components made it less attractive compared to other desktop systems. The Surface Studio 2, released in 2018, remained relevant until late 2022, when an updated version of the Surface Studio 2+ was announced. Despite the improvements, the model again remained untouched for two years after the update. Lack of widespread demand led to mediocre sales, which eventually led to the discontinuation.
