Meta AI is used by nearly 600 million users a month, says Mark Zuckerberg
Meta AI, the artificial intelligence company Meta, continues to gain popularity and has "almost" reached the 600 million users per month mark.

This was announced by Mark Zuckerberg, noting that Meta AI, launched last autumn, has already passed the 500 million users milestone in October. At the same time, Meta launched a new Llama 3.3 model, which the company said offers similar performance to the Llama 3.1 405B model but is significantly cheaper. Meta's Vice President of Generative Artificial Intelligence Ahmad Al-Dahle published a chart showing that Llama 3.3 outperformed Google's Gemini Pro 1.5 and OpenAI's GPT-4o in a number of benchmarks.

Zuckerberg also hinted at the next major release, saying the next stop is Llama 4, which is expected to be released early next year. Meta AI is embedded in apps such as Messenger, Facebook and Instagram, fuelling its rapid growth and popularity among users.
