Apple is working on adding support for common VR controllers to the Vision Pro headset.

Here's What We Know

According to Mark Gurman, Apple is working with Sony to integrate PlayStation VR2 controllers.

According to Gurman, the upcoming visionOS update will allow the use of third-party VR controllers, but the exact release date is currently unknown. The work with Sony has been going on for several months, and Apple has also asked game developers to add support for these controllers to their projects.

Initially, Apple and Sony planned to announce the new feature back in November, but the release had to be postponed.

Currently, Vision Pro supports standard Xbox and PlayStation controllers for Apple Arcade games, but without VR controllers, the headset does not yet offer a high-quality experience for VR games.

Despite selling less than half a million units, Apple hasn't stopped working on the product. This is a testament to its long-term plans in the AR/VR sphere.
