Last week, we wrote about the layoffs at Ubisoft, Torn Banner, Sweet Bandits, and Illfonic, and now another studio has joined the party.

Here's What We Know

Deck Nine, the developer of Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, announced new layoffs at the end of 2024, after having already cut 20% of its staff earlier this year. In a statement posted on Twitter, the company's CEO Mark Lyons said that they would have to "say goodbye to some talented team members", but did not specify how many employees would be laid off.

Lyons noted that it was a difficult decision, reflecting the difficulties faced by many companies in the industry. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who worked on the development of games at Deck Nine.

Deck Nine has already announced redundancies in February 2024, when the company laid off about 20% of its staff. Earlier in May 2023, about 30 employees were laid off. After two rounds of layoffs, it remains unknown how many employees remain at the studio.

After the release of Life Is Strange: Double Exposure in October, the game received mixed reviews, which may have been influenced by the studio's poor sales and unsatisfactory financial results.
