The gamepad of the forgotten Google Stadia can be switched to Bluetooth mode until 31 December 2024
Google has extended the deadline for activating Bluetooth on Stadia controllers until 31 December 2024. Initially, users had until the end of 2023 to switch their controllers to wireless mode, but the company changed the date.
Here's What We Know
The Stadia controller, which was previously used to connect to the Stadia service via Wi-Fi, can now work as a regular Bluetooth controller, allowing it to be connected to PCs, smartphones, and other devices. The process of activating Bluetooth is simple and only requires connecting the controller to a computer via USB-C and using the Google web tool at this link.
Although the controller can be used in wired mode, a wireless connection is much more convenient. It is important to note that once Bluetooth is activated, it will not be possible to use the 3.5mm headphone jack.
This controller was one of the main elements of the Stadia service, and despite the closure of the platform in January 2023, it can still be found on the market. Therefore, if you have this gamepad lying around the house somewhere when you were still using Stadia, then hurry up and switch it to Bluetooth mode.
