"More than a simple remaster": philosophical puzzle game The Talos Principle is getting a Reawakened re-release on Unreal Engine 5
Croatian studio Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital pleased fans of The Talos Principle puzzle game with an unexpected and interesting announcement.
Here's What We Know
The developers announced Reawakened - a re-release of the first part of the cult puzzle game, which was released in 2014 and became one of the best single-player games in the history of the industry.
The new version of The Talos Principle is created almost from scratch using Unreal Engine 5 technology, which will significantly improve the quality of graphics, add realistic lighting and realise reflections, shadows and glare.
The developers will keep the atmosphere and story of The Talos Principle unchanged, but will slightly rework the design of locations and make small changes in gameplay to modernise it.
Croteam will also offer a new chapter of In the Beginning, which will add to the game's storyline about humanoid androids searching for the meaning of their existence.
Road to Gehenna will be included in the base edition of The Talos Principle: Reawakened, and thanks to the flexible level editor everyone will be able to create their own puzzles and share them with the community.
When We Can Expect It
The Talos Principle: Reawakened is scheduled for release in early 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
