The fastest Mercedes G-Class has been created in honour of Lewis Hamilton: the 1,063bhp HOF 'Sir Class'
HOF, created by German tuning studio Hofele, has unveiled the HOF 'Sir Class' - a Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV with a 1,063bhp engine and 1,300Nm of torque. The car is dedicated to Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Last weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was his last appearance for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team, with which he won six championships. From the 2025 season, Hamilton will drive for Ferrari.
Here's What We Know
But back to the HOF 'Sir Class'. This SUV is capable of 300 km/h, leaving the standard AMG G63 far behind with a top speed limiter at 'only' 240 km/h. The 4.0-litre AMG V8 biturbo engine has been completely redesigned, including forged aluminium pistons and reinforced connecting rods, new variable geometry turbochargers, a more powerful fuel pump, a reinforced gearbox and a 'special' software upgrade.
As a result of HOF modifications, the Mercedes G-Class SUV is equal in power to the AMG One hypercar. However, the changes touched not only the characteristics. The car received a unique carbon fibre dodger and bonnet. The paintwork features Petronas Blue accents, and the standard seats have been replaced with sportier bucket seats. The steering wheel has also been replaced with a rectangular steering wheel, in the style of Formula 1 cars.
