Samsung is developing a new ruggedised Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro smartphone that will feature a larger removable battery.
Here's What We Know
Recently in the database of the South Korean agency Safety Korea, information about the certification of the battery for this device has appeared. The battery, model EB-BG766GBY, has a rated capacity of 4265 mAh and a typical capacity of 4350 mAh, an increase from the previous Xcover 6 Pro and Xcover 7 models, which had a typical capacity of 4050 mAh. The battery is manufactured by long-time Samsung component supplier, Ningde Amperex Technology Limited.

The Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro is likely to go on sale in mid-2025. Apart from the smartphone, Samsung is also working on a new rugged tablet in the Tab Active series. These devices are designed for use in harsh environments and have enhanced security and reliability.
