Porsche has introduced Charging Planner, a feature that simplifies travelling in electric vehicles. It is integrated into the My Porsche and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) apps of all-electric Porsche models.

Here's What We Know

Once activated, Charging Planner will be able to plan charging stops on a selected route so that you can reach your destination with the fewest and shortest possible charging stops. One of the most important factors in estimating energy demand is the user's driving profile. So if the system has learnt that the driver likes to listen to music and travel in a well-warmed cabin, it takes this into account in its energy consumption calculations. It also manages battery pre-preparation to ensure optimum charging performance during stops. Thus, on arrival at the charging station, the Taycan can be charged almost immediately with up to 320 kW, while the Macan can be charged with up to 270 kW.

The Charging Planner also automatically adds suitable charging stations and the required charging times there, taking into account real-time traffic information. During the journey, the system provides the following real-time information in the route overview: the name of the planned charging station, the battery state of charge on arrival, the estimated time of arrival and the remaining distance to the charging station. The driver can also specify the desired state of charge on arrival at the fast charging station or final destination.
