Ubisoft has announced a new feature for Assassin's Creed Shadows called "canonical mode", which will allow players to enjoy the game without having to make choices. Game director Jonathan Dumont explained that this mode is designed for those who have difficulty making choices in dialogues and will provide a carefree gaming experience.

Here's What We Know

Canonical mode allows you to play with choices already made, which will simplify the process for players who do not want to delve into storylines. Although the choices will still matter when recruiting allies and romantic relationships, the main story will be more linear.

Dumont also spoke about the narrative approach in Assassin's Creed Shadows, noting that many quests can be completed in any order, although the game offers an optimal route. This allows players to explore the game's world without restrictions.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is scheduled for release on 14 February 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The developers hope that the new mode will satisfy both fans of traditional RPG gameplay and those who want a simpler experience.
