Google News on Android has received a small but important redesign that makes it easier to navigate, in particular, the bottom bar of the app.

Here's What We Know

Previously, it had four tabs: "For You, Headlines, Followed, and Newsstand. Now, the first two sections are combined into one tab, Home, where the For You feed remains the default, and other categories are accessed via a carousel.

The new categories include Headlines, Local News, Business, Technology, Entertainment and others.

Instead of underlining, a chip design is now used, making navigation easier to use with one hand. This update also improves the aesthetics of the interface, especially for Material You. The update is available in version 5.120.x on Android, but is not yet available on iOS.

In addition, the new update introduces a "Follow" feed that allows you to customise your news sources.
