Elon Musk has gone to court again, for the fourth time, in an attempt to force OpenAI to stick to its original idea of creating artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity, not for profit.

Here's What We Know

Musk claims that the company has effectively become a subsidiary of Microsoft, focusing on profit, and is also disappointed with the closed source code.

However, OpenAI has presented new evidence that shows Musk's involvement in turning the company into a commercial entity. The discovered emails show that Musk planned to make OpenAI a part of Tesla as early as 2017, and agreed to the closed source code.

In addition, the discovered text messages between Musk, Sam Altman, and other OpenAI co-founders confirm that the company initially planned to move to a commercial model after 2017.

Musk claimed that his goal was to keep OpenAI as a non-profit organisation, but he himself actively supported the idea of commercialisation.
