A new HDMI 2.2 standard may be unveiled at CES 2025

The new HDMI 2.2 standard will be unveiled at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. This was announced by HDMI Forum in an email sent to the press.
Here's What We Know
The new standard is expected to provide support for higher resolutions and refresh rates, as well as increased bandwidth. HDMI 2.2 will be the first major update since HDMI 2.1 was released in 2017. The latest version, HDMI 2.1b, released in 2023, supports bandwidths up to 48Gbps and resolutions up to 10K.
The new standard is expected to utilise a new HDMI cable, providing higher quality data transfer and improved performance for gaming, video streaming and professional use. Details will be announced ahead of the official start of CES 2025 on 6 January 2025.
