Google seems to have made a decision to use MediaTek's T900 modem in its new Pixel 10 series smartphones. The move marks a significant change in strategy for the company, which previously relied on Samsung Exynos modems.

Here's What We Know

The MediaTek T900 modem, based on M85 technology, supports the 3GPP Release 17 5G specification, which promises to improve the performance and power efficiency of devices. The decision to go with MediaTek was made after a thorough evaluation of all available options, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 modem.

Presumably, the main reason for choosing MediaTek was its ability to provide better value for money, as well as improve the thermal performance and battery life of the smartphones, as previous Google Pixel models had some battery life issues, also due to the modems.

Details about the new MediaTek T900 modem are still scarce as MediaTek has not announced it officially yet. More information about it is expected later.
