Forza Horizon 4 has been taken off sale: what does this mean for players?
On 16 December 2024, the popular racing game Forza Horizon 4 was officially removed from the Microsoft Store and Steam digital stores, as well as the Xbox Game Pass service.
Here's What We Know
The developers from Playground Games explained this decision by completing licensing agreements with partners regarding the use of cars and music tracks in the game.
Players who have purchased Forza Horizon 4 before this date will be able to continue to download and play the game, both offline and online. The game's servers remain active, providing access to multiplayer features.
For those who have played Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and purchased additional content, the developers are providing special codes for the base version of the game to ensure continued access after it is removed from the service.
Although Forza Horizon 4 is no longer available to new customers, owners of the game can continue to enjoy it and its features without any changes. In the meantime, Playground Games is focusing on supporting and developing the next titles in the series, including Forza Horizon 5.
