Norway has allocated a new military aid package aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian Navy.

Here's What We Know

"It is necessary to protect the Ukrainian population and infrastructure from attacks by the Russian Black Sea Fleet. It is also important to protect the export of grain and other goods by sea, which provides important revenue for Ukraine," said Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Har Støre.

In particular, the funds will be used to protect Ukrainians from Russian attacks and train the Ukrainian military. Part of the funds will also be used to provide systems for demining operations in Ukraine's territorial waters.

Of the total amount, more than $10 million was allocated to support the Maritime Training Centre in 2025. At this centre, personnel from a number of countries, including Norway, train Ukrainian military personnel in naval operations.

In addition, it was reported earlier that Norway has approved annual aid to Ukraine until 2030, amounting to at least $3.2 billion. Two billion will be spent on military aid, and the rest on humanitarian and civilian support.
