Samsung is updating its devices with the latest security patch from December and the Galaxy S23 series of smartphones has become even safer and more secure with this update.

Here's What We Know

Samsung has released the update for both the Galaxy S23 flagships and the Galaxy S23 FE model. The update, at the moment, is rolling out in Europe and will soon be available in other regions.

The new firmware not only contains the latest security update for December 2024, but also an improved version of Samsung's Auto Lock feature, available at least for models without the FE designation.

When Max mode is activated, the Auto Lock feature stops interacting with all devices through the USB port, except chargers. Autolock settings are available under "Security and Privacy", via the phone's settings menu.

The update in Europe has a build number of S711BXXS6DXK8 for the Galaxy S23 FE and S91xBXXS7CXK6 for the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra. You can check for the update by going to Settings - Software Update and selecting Download and Install.
