On Sunday night 22 December 00:15 (CET) in Riyadh a rematch between Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk and British heavyweight Tyson Fury will take place.

This fight will be a high-profile event in the world of big sports and will attract huge attention all over the world, but we, being a "non-boring site about technology" (be sure to read us and you will always be aware of the most interesting things that happen in the world of high technology!) want to focus on another important point.

Here's What We Know

According to the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia Turki Al-Sheikh, in the match Usyk2Fury for the first time in history in the role of one of the referees will act as an artificial intelligence.

The AI is devoid of human bias and sympathy, it doesn't make mistakes and will fix every slip-up of the boxers. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) artificial intelligence will not influence the result of the fight and its opinion will not determine the winner - it will be an experimental application of AI in a new direction.

We are sure Usik will win without AI, but the experience of the event organisers could potentially be useful in other sports.
