The overall market for smartwatches and fitness bracelets decreased by only 1% to 139 million units sold in the period from July to September.

Apple has ceded leadership in the global smartwatch market to its Chinese competitor Huawei. Huawei increased its sales by 44.3%, selling 23.6 million units.

The success was driven by innovative models such as Huawei Watch D2 with certified medical blood pressure measurement and the rapid growth of the wearables market in China, where 45.8 million units were sold.

Xiaomi came in third with 20.5 million watches sold and a market share of 14.7%. Its popularity grew thanks to the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 and Xiaomi Watch S4 models.

Samsung also showed an increase of 24.3%, selling 11.5 million units thanks to a wide range of products, from Galaxy Fit3 to Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Apple maintains its advantage only in the watch segment, excluding smartwatches.
