The UK government has confirmed a new military aid package for Ukraine, with a total value of £225 million (approximately $280 million). This was reported by Reuters.
According to Defence Secretary John Healey, the package includes a wide range of equipment that will help strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities.
Thus, 92 million pounds will be spent on the needs of the Ukrainian Navy, including small boats, reconnaissance drones, barrage munitions and unmanned surface ships. 68 million pounds is provided for the purchase of air defence equipment, including radars, decoys and radar anti-drone systems. 26 million pounds will be allocated for spare parts for previously delivered equipment.
In addition, £39 million will be spent on more than a thousand electronic warfare systems against drones, as well as on providing respirators and improving the protective capabilities of the Ukrainian military.
During his visit to Kyiv, John Healey stressed the importance of maintaining the UK's support for Ukraine. This position has also been repeatedly emphasised by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
As a reminder, the UK is one of Ukraine's key allies in the fight against Russian aggression, providing military and humanitarian aid on a regular basis.
