The first season of the series "Dune: Prophecy" (Dune: Prophecy) will end only tomorrow - 22 December, but the film company HBO has already announced that it will get a sequel.

Here's What We Know

At a press conference, showrunner Alison Schapker said that the prequel to the famous universe of writer Frank Herbert and Denis Villeneuve's films will get a second season.

The producer also revealed that the Dune: Prophecy series has attracted 15 million viewers on streaming service Max, which is great.

We are so excited and grateful for the support, for our partners at Legendary, and most of all for the fact that we can continue to work with these incredible people both in front of and behind the camera as we continue to tell this story.

As a reminder, the events of the series unfold 10,000 years before the events of the main saga, of which Denis Villeneuve's films are a part.

Dune: Prophecy is centred around the story of the creation of the female order of Bene Gesserit, which had a great influence on the balance of power in the galaxy and dictated its terms in the political arena.

The series is partially based on the novel The Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert, the son of Dune creator Frank Herbert.

The main characters of the series are two sisters of the Harkonnen house, who confront the forces that threaten the future of mankind.
