"The Mummy" returns: a new "Mummy" film from Blumhouse and New Line Cinema is coming out in 2026
Blumhouse has announced a new Mummy film to be released in April 2026. The project will be directed and written by Lee Cronin, known for the film "Evil Dead: Uprising" in 2023.
Here's What We Know
The new film promises to be unique and frightening, different from all previous versions. Cronin has stated that he is digging deep into the earth to bring up something very ancient and scary. The film will be co-produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, with New Line Cinema handling the release.

This will be the first mummy film from New Line rather than Universal, which has previously produced cult films with Brendan Fraser and a failed 2017 reboot with Tom Cruise. Blumhouse has already had success with modern versions of classic monsters such as The Invisible Man and the new Halloween franchise, and hopes to replicate that success with a new mummy film. The film is scheduled for release on 17 April 2026.
