Hyundai electric car owners in the US received a nice Christmas bonus: a free adapter for Tesla Supercharger charging stations. The offer is valid for those who have purchased or leased a specific Hyundai model (listed below) before 31 January 2025.

What is Hyundai offering?

With the North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter, users will be able to charge at more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger stations in the US. To get the device, you'll need to register an application through the MyHyundai portal in the first quarter of 2025. Hyundai will ship the adapter at its own expense.

The offer covers the following vehicles:

  • 2024 model year and earlier: Kona Electric, Ioniq, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6.
  • 2025 model year: Kona Electric, Ioniq 5 N, Ioniq 6.

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is not included in this list because it is initially equipped with a charging port with a NACS connector and does not need an adapter to charge to the Tesla Supercharger.

In addition, the Genesis brand has announced its participation in the programme. Although details and models will be announced later.
