Toyota Camry Glorious Edition: GAC-Toyota has launched a special version of the Camry for China
GAC-Toyota has unveiled the Camry Glorious Edition in China, a special version of the hybrid sedan designed to draw attention to the model. It seems the automaker decided that the "grandiose" name will help make the Camry more appealing.
Here's What We Know
The Camry Glorious Edition has a matte grey finish, black Toyota emblems and blacked-out "Camry" lettering on the boot. The sedan has a black grille, front splitter, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler. Completing the look are 19-inch Lexus-style wheels.
The interior is adorned with a combination of velvet and genuine leather. 64-colour ambient lighting projects patterns on the front panel and doors. Other equipment includes two 12.3-inch displays, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof and a Dynaudio Premium audio system.
A special feature is a Boss Key button that slides the front passenger seat as far forward as possible, freeing up more space for rear VIP passengers.
The Camry Glorious Edition's hybrid system is built around a 2.0-litre engine that delivers 197bhp and 188Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the front wheels. Modifications with a petrol engine and a hybrid based on the 2.5-litre engine are also available in China.
Toyota Camry Glorious Edition can already be ordered in China. Prices start at 202,800 yuan ($27,800) for the HG and HXS versions with maximum equipment.
