At the moment, one of the main mysteries of the gaming industry is the date of announcement and start of sales of Nintendo Switch 2.

Surprisingly, we know almost everything about the console from unofficial sources, but the Japanese company is stubbornly silent, does not disclose technical specifications, does not show the appearance of the console and does not even indicate its name.

Here's What We Know

A Chinese insider under the nickname 荷姆荷姆嗼 in the social network Weibo began the countdown, which will end on 8 January. Since the informant with a hard-to-pronounce nickname had previously shared information about Nintendo's plans on several occasions, users logically assumed that this time, too, it was about the expected console from the Japanese company.

But it's impossible to know for sure, although another insider under the nickname Nate the Hate reported back in early December that the first Switch 2 presentation will take place in January. He also claimed that some special event will be held in May, and in May-June sales of the device will start.

Well, we wait for 8 January and hope that Nintendo will finally start sharing official information about its console.
