One UI 7.0 allows you to switch off Super HDR
Samsung's One UI 7.0 update brings many new features and improvements, some of which have been revealed since the beta release.
Here's What We Know
One of these new features is the ability to turn off Super HDR system-wide. This option will be useful for those users who are not entirely satisfied with the look of images and videos with high dynamic range displayed on their screens.
On the Galaxy S24, Samsung's first Super HDR device, this feature is system-wide and allows you to capture, display and share high dynamic range images and videos. However, some users don't like the way these images and videos look, especially when the screen glows brightly to show details in bright areas.
One UI 7.0 now allows you to turn off Super HDR in all apps, not just the gallery.
How To Switch It On
To disable this feature, just go to the settings: "Settings", "Advanced Features" and turn off the Super HDR switch. In One UI 6.1, this feature was only available in the standard Gallery app and only affected the brightness in that app. Now, once switched off, Super HDR will be deactivated even in third-party apps such as Instagram and Threads.
Super HDR, based on Google's Ultra HDR format, allows you to capture and display images and videos with high dynamic range, making them brighter and more detailed. So far, this option is only supported on a few models, including the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, Galaxy Flip 6, Fold 6 and Fold Special Edition.
