Lenovo may ditch TrackPoint in new ThinkPad X9
Lenovo seems to be preparing for significant changes in its laptops. New images of the ThinkPad X9 series that have surfaced online show that the company is ditching the iconic red TrackPoint.

This element, which has been an integral part of the ThinkPad from the very beginning, will now be replaced by a large touchpad.
According to information posted by leak insider WalkingCat on Twitter, the new ThinkPad X9 models are radically changing the design, abandoning the traditional black colour in favour of silver-grey. Moreover, TrackPoint, which has been associated with the brand for decades, will no longer be on the X9 series laptops.
This decision has long been a concern for ThinkPad fans, as TrackPoint was one of the main elements that distinguished these laptops from others on the market. Although the touchpad has become much more popular, the TrackPoint has remained an integral part for many users.
Lenovo ThinkPad X9 laptops are available in two sizes: 14-inch and 15-inch models.
The new devices are likely to be powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, which will provide powerful performance. In addition, the ThinkPad X9 has a slim body reminiscent of the MacBook Air, but with several additional ports, such as USB-A and HDMI. Another important new feature is a new keyboard with modified keys and an updated layout that again resembles Apple.
