Alfa Romeo has revealed a teaser of the light signature that the new Stelvio could get (video)
Alfa Romeo wraps up 2024 with a note of intrigue - in a "best moments" video, the company not only showed off its achievements, but also spotlighted the company's signature LED headlights in a new design. This could be a hint at the design of the next-generation Stelvio flagship crossover, which is expected to debut in summer 2025. There's no official confirmation of this, though.
Here's What We Know
The main design highlight is the continuous LED strip at the stern, which follows the shape of the iconic Scudetto grille. This is a kind of evolutionary leap compared to the current Stelvio (pictured in the gallery below). But aside from the full-width taillights, we also have a hint of the front end of the upcoming crossover. Starting with the Junior compact crossover that debuted earlier this year, all Alfa Romeo models will get a shortened version of the Scudetto grille with 3D graphics inspired by the brand's emblem.
In addition, from the next generation, the asymmetrical positioning of the number plate on the front bumper will disappear from the Stelvio design. This was one of Alfa Romeo's design features, but the company had to abandon this approach due to pedestrian safety requirements.
The new Stelvio will be based on the STLA Large platform, which is already used in the Dodge Charger. Officially, Alfa Romeo has only talked about all-electric models, but given the current state of the industry, we can assume that the Italian company will also offer versions with internal combustion engines, probably with hybrid support.
When to expect it?
The new Stelvio is scheduled to debut in the summer of 2025, while the sister Giulia will arrive in 2026.
